One of our favourite game to practise our phonics and our basic facts is Skoolbo.
This game lets us race against students from other NZ Schools and it helps us with our instant recall.
This game is free for children in NZ schools and you can use it at home too.
You might need to ask Mum/Dad/Nana to help you download the game. (go to the website and click downloads from the top)

Online Stories
During our Reading sessions we often listen to stories online while the teacher is working with another group.
If we get stuck when reading a story we can click on a word and the computer will read that word out loud for us.
You can listen to these stories at home too.

Today Room 10 thought about what makes a good writer. We came up with a big list of things.
We are going to try and use these all when we are writing.

Welcome to Room 10
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are ready for a fantastic year of new learning in 2015.
One of the ways we are going to share our learning with our Parents and Whanau is through this blog.
Please check in regularly and comment on the hard work Room 10 are doing.
From Mrs Tina Taylor
