One of our favourite game to practise our phonics and our basic facts is Skoolbo.

This game lets us race against students from other NZ Schools and it helps us with our instant recall.

This game is free for children in NZ schools and you can use it at home too.

Online Stories

During our Reading sessions we often listen to stories online while the teacher is working with another group.

If we get stuck when reading a story we can click on a word and the computer will read that word out loud for us.

You can listen to these stories at home too.

Today we discussed what it would look like in the classroom if children were showing responsibility for themselves and their learning.

These are some of the ideas they came up with. 

Today Room 10 thought about what makes a good writer. We came up with a big list of things.

We are going to try and use these all when we are writing.
